I loved being around Pati and her twin Susan. I would walk from my house in Avondale to their home in Western Plateau then back home just to spend an hour or two with them. I never will forget Jane Moore’s THS English class where Pati and Ms. Moore would agitate each other daily. Pati would rock her desk back and forth on the front row . . . Ms. Moore would warn her to be still. One day, Pati tipped over while seated in the desk and Ms. Moore ignored the incident, pacing all around the room but not allowing anyone to help Pati up. Pati finally wiggled out, sat the deak upright and class continued. Pati was hurt but never would admit it while in class.
