Debby sat in front of me in Homeroom all through my years at Tascosa and she was one of the sweetest girls ever.  I am so sorry to hear of her passing.

Her infectuous smile and singular effervescent giggle; her love for children, her friends at FBC and Amarillo High as well as among Rebels; her love for her LORD; her Facebook positive messages prove she was ALL DEBBY all the time. We were in a group of girlfriends that celebrated birthdays together--always trying to surprise the bday girl.

I only saw her about 4 times after graduation.  Thanks to THS class reunion events and its planners for two of those times.  -Gay Johnson, now in Birmingham AL

I met Debby at Ridgecrest Elementary in September 1960, walked her home from school on many occasions, silently fell in love and enjoyed her friendship through Crockett and Tascosa. She was a wonderful human! Kind, optimistic, funny, loving, insightful and caring. To spend time with her was always memorable. I am profoundly saddened by her passing but know that she brought light and love to all who knew her.

Debby was very special as you all know who have commented thus far.  Met her our senior year in a class we had together 1st semester, asking if she would like to see a movie, and said she was dating someone at the time, although maybe later.  Entering 2nd semester, received a call one evening from Debby asking if there was a movie that interested me, and we began dating, doing so until she left Amarillo Jr. College to attend Baylor and I left WTSU to enter the military.

Debby always put others first before herself, she was curious, adventurous, a jokester and mischievous in a good-natured way, and always thoughtful of those she was around … While working at Plains Chevrolet during the summer, every so often she would surprise me, arriving lunch in hand with her smile and laugh.  Occasionally she would ask me to stop along the roadway to pick a small bunch of mixed flowers to take home, she enjoyed the outdoors, going to the lake, drive-in movies, and being hugged at the front door after a date night - Her mother always waited up for her and would flick the porch lights on us smiley  Wish we had known each other in the earlier years at THS, as the time we did share was far too short, however definitely memorable.

Joining the Tascosa 1969 website for the 50th, she reached out and talked about the good times we had, our families, what life had brought us over the years, and found she hadn’t changed in those past years, and still the Debby I knew, and Forever in My Heart …
