Lynn and I had home room together forever!!! We sat right next to each other! He was my buddy!!! We were just friends ... he went to West Texas State University and he Pledged Phi Delta Theta were he met my future husband!!! So one day Tom said I want you to meet this great guy well guess who it was ? It was Lynn of course we both started laughing!!! Tom said you two know each other and we said yes we have gone to school together for a long time... Then one day Lynn announced he had decided to go to Seminary I started laughing and said really he told me that God had called upon him!!! From that day forward Lynn never lost his faith Lynn thanks for being my friend and may you rest in peace!!!

I have wonderful memories of Lynn. He was one of my oldest neighbors on  Albert street. . We had a great block of future Rebels with John Smithee and Beth Glenn, through Olsen Park, Crockett, and Tascosa.   I'll always remember his humor and great smile. He touched many people and our class has suffered another loss of a great person.who will be missed by friends and family.

When I first started using Facebook Lynn found me and encouraged me to keep trying to use it.  As juniors In history class we sat near each other by the windows and had some banter passing papers up or down the row. I appreciated his positivity at Tascosa and then as an adult.  I'm glad he found his life's calling in church work and noticed he was so proud of his wife and family.  Always a good guy.

There are others who have gone on that I would have written about, but I had trouble logging in. I long ago forgot the password but read notices without responding.   Early on I thought I had to pay to make comments so I  was satisfied with the read only capability.

REBELS, seeing how many have passed makes me realize my age--that along with some intermittent aches and pains. Looking at pictures of you people makes me see myself more accurately. Today, January 1, 2025, I want to be more purposeful about my upcoming days--including being thankful for our wonderful days at Tascosa, Crockett, and FBC and people I knew not so well!

I close with some encouragement knowing Lynn would approve!  "May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13" Here's to unexpected faith stories of 2025.  -Gay

I got to know Lynn when we were stationed in Lawton Oklahoma. I didn't know him in high school but he knew my brother Bob Cornelius better and I learned we lived close in Amarillo. I became heavily involved in the political area in Oklahoma regarding school reform back in the late 80's early 90's. Lynn was living in Oklahoma at the same time. Lynn was a constant person who offered wise counsel and insight with a dash of welcomed humor. I know, by our faith, we will meet again. My thoughts and prayers are extended to his family.
