Marla passed away Saturday morning, September 14, after a lengthy illness. We remained friends since high school. She was funny, witty, intelligent, and brave. My life was greatly impacted by her drive to excel academically. She got her MBA at U.T., worked for her father in the oil and gas industry. Eventually, she worked as a real estate broker in Austin. She was married to Michael Conner, had 2 sons, Jesse and Adam.

I will miss her beautiful face, her sweet personality, and her humor. Sincerest condolences to her family.

I attended the memorial service for Marla November 17 at Antones in austin. It was a good turnout, her sisters claire and Lisa were there. We enjoyed reminiscing. A lot of the people were probably from Amarillo  but I didn't recognize them. Marla was so quiet, gentle, soft-spoken, she had a calming influence on others. But, at the same time, she was smiling and quick to laugh at everything. I miss her.
