My last name was Phelps when I went to Tascosa. That was my step-father's name. I changed it back to my birth name Gremillion in 1974. Appeared in the musical "Texas" in Palo Duro Canyon the summer of 1969. Rehearsals began prior to graduation day so I didn't attend grad ceremonies. Attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene 1969-70 because I auditioned for a USO troupe that was based out of there. We toured US Military bases in Greenland, Iceland, Germany. Was also a leading actor at the Van Ellis Theater in Abilene. Moved to Dallas in 1971 to work at the Dallas Theater Center which I did for a year. For the next 3 years I wrote music for and performed with a couple of performance art groups. Cast in a Columbia Picture Film entitled "Drive-In" in 1975, went on to appear in the movie "Futureworld" and a 6 month run at the Houston MOMA Theater in Michael McClure's play "The Beard." Moved to Los Angeles and appeared in "The Dukes of Hazzard" and worked at the Shakespeare Theater in West Hollywood. Spent 1980 in NYC appearing in a performance art troupe and returned to L.A. to begin working in film production, behind the camera, which I did more or less full time for the next 38 years. All the while, still composing, producing and performing music, and making art, and a few short films and documentaries. I have mostly retired from film production and now manage full time an historic, custom car completion project.
